Robyn Myers welcomed the group to the 4th quarter Rocky Mountain Lawson User Group Meeting, which had 54 attendees!
The
User Group Committee would like to thank: Mike Toolan and Linda Barclay from netASPx presented HR/Payroll Year End Events. Linda talked about Lawson’s Year end downloads, program updates, file layouts, approved W-2 vendors, the importance of registering for critical email notifications and all the changes for 2002. View the netASPx HR/Payroll Year-End presentation here (125K). Matt Pieper from Paradigm presented Financial Year End Processing (Matt Pieper and Chris Macioszek are pictured). Matt talked about closing the General ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Activities, and Asset Management. He also gave additional year end process to close the General ledger, the recommended year end procedures, and other optional processes. View Matt’s Year-End Financials presentation here (98K). Rhonda Schuler, Lawson’s National Training manager, talked about upcoming training classes available. She will also work with Lawson partner Digiterra on having training classes held at their location. Lunch, provided by NetASPx, consisted of an assortment of sandwiches, chips and cookies from Einstein Bagels, of course! Paul Jensen from Centura Health gave an update on their 8.0 upgrade. · Upgrade delayed due to receiving new upgrade programs that had changes to tool management, direct deposit, and materials with EDI invoices. · New GO LIVE date o 01/10/03. This is the date that all departments were in agreement with. Craig Needham from Lawson presented Lawson Security. He talked about Lawson’s approach to security, the different levels of security, LAUA, Lawson user security and how to add a User. View Craig’s Security presentation here (170K). His presentation contains an outstanding chart showing the Security components and their relationships to each other - print the presentation page (3) and keep it - this is a vital reference! Craig Needham also presented the Lawson 7-to-8.0.2 Upgrade and Changes from a technical view. He showed the supported upgrade paths, complier changes, new environment features, new database features, the Logan name change to IOS (Internet Object Services), IOS basics, and Craig also defined environment, IOS, and collaborative commerce. In closing the Rocky Mountain User Group 4th quarter meeting we had a drawing of door prizes provided by netASPx and Paradigm. Some of the prizes up for grabs were slinkies, CDs, gift certificates, golf shirts and sweatshirts. The big prize was a palm pilot provided by Paradigm. We thank everyone for attending this ROMLUG meeting (54 attendees - the largest turnout yet)!
