Subject: vision committee report

I am very excited about the committee report chaired by Bill Rubin. The people that were involved were Bill, Peggy Halderman, Rolo Cuadrado, Mat Matson, Kevin Farrell, and myself. We have come to the conclusion that there are some committees that need to be formed to reach our goals for 1015. There was a long discussion about working on the governance of the board. How do we make decisions like how to select chairs, select board members, defining the roles, etc? Please read the report and consider it's implications. Now how do you want to become involved with the board to move us forward.

Note that we have requested that anyone interested in becoming a board member that they apply online. In order to fill the open board seats, we are requesting that people fill out the application online. If you have someone that you believe to be interested and willing to put in the time, that you contact them right away.

We started with some givens from the visioning statements and came up with this to have the committee work with:

• RM RYLA is recognized for creating youth leadership conferences.

• RM RYLA produces these events for and by a diverse population of youth through collaboration with Rotarians.

• RM RYLA expands and improves its impact using current and effective programming, training, and methods of evaluation.

• RM RYLA employs consistent guidelines when selecting participants, staff, and board members.

• RM RYLA continually increases its participant capacity and Rotary involvement, and engages an active alumni network.
